3D Systems newly launched photopolymer plastics for Figure 4, Non-Contact Membrane Technology, suitable for long-term use.
3D Systems are committed to elevating 3D printing and bringing new levels of performance and productivity to both prototyping and production. Materials science and advancing material capabilities play a big role in accomplishing our mission, which is why we are proud to announce the addition of four new production-capable Figure 4 materials to help service bureaus deliver higher performance prototypes, rapid tooling, and manufactured parts.
1. Figure 4 Rigid Gray
With Figure 4® Rigid Gray, you can save on tooling costs and time with direct production plastic parts. This material is a production-grade gray material that delivers a surface finish comparable to injection molding and provides long-term environmental stability.
This high contrast gray colour is ideal for parts requiring high feature definition like texture and lettering, for painting and plating as well as for prototyping and production for consumer products and general use on small parts requiring high details and accuracy.
2. Figure 4 High Temp 150°C FR Black
Figure 4® High Temp 150°C FR Black is a rigid flame-retardant black material that can be used for production parts requiring UL94 V0 rating as well as FAR 25.853 and 23.853 capability, providing long-term environmental stability with an injection molded0like surface quality.
This material is suitable for applications that require performance at high temperatures like brackets, covers and circuit board housings and covers.
3. Figure 4 Tough 60C White
Figure 4® Tough 60C White is a versatile, biocompatible-capable production-grade white material with good impact strength, elongation, and tensile strength, providing long-term environmental stability and long-lasting white color with an injection molded-like surface quality.
This material is recommended for high mechanical load-bearing batch production medical parts that remain functional and stable for years and it features a 65˚C heat deflection temperature and 23% elongation at break and is excellent for brackets, snaps, and clips due to a 7.1% elongation at yield.
4. Figure 4 Tough 65C Black
Figure 4® Tough 65C Black is a versatile production-grade black material with good impact strength, elongation, and tensile strength. This material provides long-term environmental stability with an injection molded-like surface quality and suitable for high mechanical load-bearing batch production parts, jigs and fixtures, and prototypes.
With features that can withstand 70˚C heat deflection temperature and 35% elongation at break, it is excellent for buckles, snaps, and clips due to a 6.6% elongation at yield.
